SUMMARY:Coral Pucks: Ryan Lomberg Saving The Reef With Plant A Million Corals Foundation
DESCRIPTION:Plant a Million Corals Foundation and Florida Panther\, Ryan Lomberg to commemorate first 10\,000 corals produced at land-based nursery. \nWhen: August 5\, 2023 10am-4:30pm \nWhat: The public is invited to visit the Plant a Million Corals Restoration Park at Summerland Farms in Summerland Key. We will be offering tours\, book signings\, and demonstrations which will culminate in the cutting of our 10\,000th coral! \nThe Plant a Million Corals Foundation will be joined by Ryan Lomberg\, Left Wing for the Florida Panthers\, and family to assist in the production of the 10\,000th coral at 1pm. \nWhy: While Plant a Million Corals has been involved in growing coral all over the world with their partners\, this represents the first of many milestones towards their goal to produce 1 million corals per year\, by the end of 2024. This solar powered land-based nursery is the proof of concept that large scale coral restoration can be achieved at low cost\, using micro-fragmentation. The event at the farm will be followed with a fundraiser for their efforts nearby at My New Joint in Cudjoe Key\, FL from 2:30pm to 4:30pm. Attendees will enjoy an included wine tasting with paired bites. There will also be a silent auction\, signature cocktails and a cash bar.
